Dean's Address

Dr. Ilyas Abubakr Al-Barouni

Dean of the College

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Nalut University is today considered one of the most important national think tanks relied upon for providing rigorous studies and research capable of addressing the most prominent political and economic issues at the local, regional, and international levels. Since the establishment of this faculty, we have been keen to make it a center of knowledge dissemination that contributes to decision-making support and offers scientific insights that contribute to achieving development and enhancing stability.

Our college is working on preparing outstanding educational outcomes that possess the skills and knowledge required by the job market and respond to the changing needs of society, believing that building a person is the fundamental pillar of any renaissance or progress.

As part of its social responsibility, the college has implemented a number of specialized workshops and lectures, the most important of which are leadership preparation courses aimed at youth and graduates, in addition to organizing in-depth dialogue seminars that addressed economic and political challenges, as well as the constitutional issue in Libya, with the aim of creating a knowledge space that contributes to raising community awareness and enhancing the efficiency of actors in public affairs.

The role of the college was not limited to academic activities alone, but extended to scientific contributions by organizing the first international scientific conference on economic and political studies in 2023 under the slogan "Horizons and Integration," followed by the second international scientific conference in 2025 under the slogan "Towards Achieving Sustainable Local Development." These two conferences represented an important scientific platform for diagnosing challenges and proposing solutions, where the college collected and formulated all the recommendations issued from them and presented them to the National Council for Economic and Social Development within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement that binds us, to be later submitted to the government for use in shaping public policies.

The college includes four active scientific departments: Economics, Management, Accounting, and Political Science, all of which operate under a clear vision, a precise mission, and strategic goals that we have outlined as a work plan we strive to achieve, so that our contributions remain extended, and our role is firmly established in serving the university, the community, and the state.

And God is the Grantor of success.
