The department aims to qualify students who possess a deep understanding of economic theories and their applications, enabling them to analyze local and international economic phenomena in a way that serves the development process in Libya.

The department places special importance on applied scientific research and encourages studies that contribute to addressing current economic challenges, enhancing students' ability to make sound economic decisions across various sectors.

I am pleased to welcome you to the Department of Economics, which began its academic journey in the spring of 2023, making it a distinguished addition to the array of scientific programs in our college. With 17 students enrolled so far, the department continues to grow steadily towards building a strong knowledge base that contributes to preparing skilled individuals capable of understanding and analyzing economic challenges and participating in formulating effective solutions for them.

The department offers an academic program that keeps pace with the latest developments in economic sciences, focusing on developing students' skills in analysis, research, and decision-making, which enhances their readiness for the job market and empowers them to contribute to national development.

In conclusion, we ask Allah to bless the efforts of the students and faculty members, and for the Department of Economics to be a source of knowledge and development, contributing to the building of a prosperous economic future.

curriculum


The college currently follows a closed semester system and will transition to an open semester system later. The academic year is divided into two semesters (Fall / Spring), and the duration of study at the college is eight semesters during which the student studies a set of courses according to the credit hour system (i.e., 3 credit hours). The college grants a specialized degree (Bachelor's degree).
