About the Department


This department is considered one of the supportive and complementary sections to the other disciplines of the college, as it plays an important role in providing students with the essential knowledge and skills that contribute to building their academic and intellectual personalities, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of economic, political, and administrative sciences.

The department focuses on teaching a range of general courses, such as Arabic language, English language, computer science subjects, general culture, scientific research methodology, and other courses that contribute to refining students' skills and enhancing their abilities in communication, analysis, and critical thinking.

The department is keen to keep up with modern scientific and educational developments by updating curricula and adopting modern teaching methods that encourage creativity and active participation in the educational process.

We in the General Studies Department believe that the integration of knowledge is the foundation for preparing an outstanding graduate who possesses a broad culture, is capable of positively interacting with their university and community environment, and can effectively contribute to serving their country.

I am pleased to welcome you to the General Studies Department, which began its academic journey in the fall of 2021, serving as a fundamental pillar in building the scientific foundations for students across various disciplines. The number of enrolled students in the department during the fall semester of 2025 reached 140, which is a testament to the great confidence in the quality of the educational programs we offer.

In the department, we strive to offer comprehensive scientific courses aimed at developing students' foundational knowledge and academic skills, preparing them to continue their studies in various disciplines, and enhancing their analytical and critical abilities. We also prioritize providing a stimulating educational environment that encourages research, discovery, and the development of scientific thinking.

In conclusion, we ask God to grant success to our students and faculty members, and may the General Studies Department continue to be a source of knowledge and contribute to the preparation of distinguished individuals to serve the community.

curriculum


The college currently follows a closed semester system and will transition to an open semester system later. The academic year is divided into two semesters (Fall / Spring), and the duration of study at the college is eight semesters during which the student studies a set of courses according to the credit hour system (i.e., 3 credit hours). The college grants a specialized degree (Bachelor's degree).
